UMD Experiment Manager
To overcome the difficulties of collecting study questionnaires and other self reported data from participants all over the US we built a web based tool. Basic functionality include the creation of studies (usually a class in HPC) and assignments by Professors at the beginning and the maintenance of questionnaires and self reported effort and defect data by students during the study.

Status
The system has been used to capture all self reported data since 2005. It is tailored to our study designs and is only applicable to similar studies. One future aim is to extend the tool to work with arbitrary empirical study designs even outside the HPC domain.
